The Exchange Hotel

Fisher Koppenhafer is currently working on interior and exterior renovations to The Exchange Hotel and The Treasury on the Plaza. The Spanish Renaissance Revival-style structure was built in 1926 and remains the tallest building in historic St. Augustine – making it the focal point of the skyline. While adding new guest rooms and converting the existing tower into hotel rooms, we aim to preserve the existing historical elements of the structure, with the ballroom and bank vault still remaining. The intention of this project is to breathe new life into the structure while promoting its historic urban character and integrity, assist in promoting responsible tourism and keep the structure true to its designation on The National Register of Historic Places.
